The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China announced on Jan. 19 that China will continue to impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on the solar-grade polysilicon imports from the U.S. and South Korea.

With the same anti-dumping and countervailing duty rates placing on polysilicon manufactured in the U.S., the amount of solar-grade polysilicon exported to China will remain as low as in previous years. Therefore, the U.S. polysilicon manufacturers won’t cause much impact on the Chinese polysilicon market.
Wafer companies in China will continue purchasing polysilicon for polysilicon manufactured in China or foreign companies that face lower AD/CVD, such as the Wacker Germany-based facility and OCI.
