Ørsted has signed a corporate power purchase agreement with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for the production from the Danish company’s 920-MW Greater Changhua 2b & 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan.
The contract marks the world’s largest renewable power supply contract .
Under the agreement, TSMC will buy power generated by Greater Changhua 2b & 4 offshore wind farms for 20 years with a fixed price, which is higher than the feed-in-tariff Ørsted secured in June 2018.
Greater Changhua 2b & 4 wind farms are expected to reach commercial operations between 2025 and 2026.
